The H/D Smoochfest reveals are up! Such a brilliant fest this year - I’m sad it’s over already. The theme was “songspiration” and my prompt was the Moonlight Sonata, which is one of my most favourite pieces of classical music ever. It’s absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t resist! I had initially wanted to do a picture inspired by the lake scene in Immortal Beloved, where Beethoven is floating on his back with the stars reflecting in the water around him, but it didn’t quite work out for me. Instead I went a bit more metaphorical. The magnolias aren’t intended to be symbolic - I just think they’re a beautiful spring flower - but if you can find some meaning in them then I’m all for it!
